Champian Fulton has become a world-class jazz pianist and vocalist with international acclaim. As a band-leader she has nine recordings to her credit. Fulton’s 2016 album, After Dark, features the music of Dinah Washington, which she revisits on this concert date. Recognized as a “Rising Star” by DownBeat Magazine’s Critics Poll, she also received the “Female Jazz Vocalist Of the Year” award at the 2017 Hot House Jazz Magazine Fan’s Decision Award. Her “galvanizing presence” (The New Yorker) and musical presentation have made her, as The New York Times writes, “a charming young steward of the mainstream jazz tradition.”
