Paula’s Acoustic Trio “The Beat Tramps” is a world-class unit comprised of musicians that have worked with Mose Allison. Little Richard, Herbie Hancock, Todd Rundgren, Low Rawls. Greg Allman, Bobby Rush and more. They fuse Paula’s humorous original lyrics with traditional blues forms, usually of the swampy variety, then add doses of swing, jazz, and funk for a tasty stew that epitomizes the phrase “Cooking with Grease” It’s hot as hell and Oh so Tasty.The Beat Tramps were assembled with some very specific goals. Paula wanted an acoustic trio with the same energy and impact as her award-winning eight piece band “Beasts of Blues” which also headline Biscuits and Blues. She wanted a bass player capable of approaching an upright with the same mentality as a funk player would an electric bass. She wanted a fusion of Blues Jazz and Soul that could not be put into a micro category but instead would have a mainstream appeal to fans of all three genres.
