Born in Azerbaijan, Amina Figarova spent much of her career in Holland before settling in New York City. As one of the most productive jazz composers around, she has been invited to perform at many of the world’s leading jazz festivals. Propelled by her sparkling, refined piano playing, her works for Sextet are conceptual, evocative and just plain gorgeous.
