The music of the iconic George Gershwin is honored on Friday, with a who’s-who of great Bay Area vocalists on hand, including local jazz luminaries Paula West, Kim Nalley and Jamie Davis as well as Bay Area music legend Dan Hicks. Backing this impressive list of singing talent is the esteemed Marcus Shelby Quartet, featuring the bass-playing leader, saxophonist Howard Wiley, pianist Joe Gilman and drummer Akira Tana.
